One thing I don't miss about the old QOTSA is the radio bits between songs. That joke was really tired after two years. Just listened the Mark's track again, and I'm very excited for the show now. Two weeks! I KNOW! ;D This gig is definately going to be a highlight of this year.

EDIT: According to the liner notes in the (literally) shiny UK deluxe edition...The Fun Machine Took A Shit & Died was lost or misplaced... I just downloaded the album b/c my copy hasn't arrived yet and that hidden song is no biggie. It's not even a song, just an instrumental build up that ends the album.

Ok, is the "Someone's in the Wolf" vid the only vid on the DVD? Yup - Little Sister is available as a separate DVD single. The DVD with the deluxe set is a muchly expanded version of the one on LS, with a big "making of" thingy (with plenty of Lanegan stuff a opposed to the half-second of screentime he gets on the single), the Someone's in the Wolf vid in full (is it just me, or is the young lady in that not wearing any pants? She'll catch her death out there), and some spoof interview with Joshwhich is pretty funny if he's not in on the joke, pretty corny if he is. more like 2 songs actually....... Not if you're in North Americaland, where Precious & Grace is seemingly omitted, along with Like a Drug. Which is a shame, as P&G is pretty awesome (no need to fret though, as the DVD has a wee snippet of Mark laying some of his vocals down for this track. Incorrectly). He still pops up here & there though - full Lanecredits: This Lullaby - Vocals Burn the Witch - backing vox (w/Billy Gibbons) "You've got a Killer Scene There, Man..." - Salty Vocals He also has writing credits for Tangled up in Plaid and additional lyrics props for Medication and Long Slow Goodbye

Well I'm glad I ordered it from Amazon UK because of the bonus tracks, but it looks like the US version is better as far as the DVD goes: there are many more unreleased vids on it as well as the Homme interview and "Making Of..." sessions so I'll probably end up getting that too later on.

Been on repeat listen on the stereo for the last week...came out on 21/3 in Australia. Is that the same date of release as you guys in UK, US & EUR?
For me the first few listens were average and little bit of a let down in comparison to SFTD...lacks of Oliveris' alternating bass groove. But its a real creeper and I think when I look back in a couple of years there'll be songs from LTP that will end up being some of their most classic!!
We got the DVD as well, making of album, wolf video and sam silvermans innocent but porn star like questioning of Josh. We got Like a Drug but NO precious & grace and fun machine took a shit & died...sucks big time

I have to agree. It seems such a waste to have someone of the talents of mark and not use him more. It has also become clear that bubblegum is a far more superior album

alright, i have the record now.
i like it. alot. it's much better than songs for the deaf, mainly because of the absence of the stupid annoying radio gimmickery.
and josh's voice is getting better, he's really developed the vibrato croon since the first album. it's really a beautiful sound.
and of course, this lullaby as the lead-off is brilliant, both in song loveliness and level of sarchasm.
i give it 4 out of 5 karlitos.

I'd like that he sings much more in that album and all the others. and yes! Bubblegum is better

I agree Karlito, after a few listens it really grew on me and "Someone's In the Wolf" is sexy as fuck.

i still can't get over how shit the booklet design is.
in this day and age of downloading, it is the one thing that bands can do to enhance the act of buying a physical 'thing' (see: Nick Cave's latest, however annoying the practicality of the packaging it is it's very slick and special thing).
there.

It's a bloody poor album. It sucks. No Nick, no ideas, no inspriration ... just nothing that would make worth the afford of buying or even downloading.
Want a good QotSA album? Go, get 'Rated R'

Today (Sunday 17 april) it´s my first time i hear the album. Make me happy and it´s like there are a couple of things that dont´exist but I create that Non-existenced things: a pact or unknowledge contract between the artist and listener. What i do? I shake my hands, and make music with the eyes, sometimes i sing other chord, or start whistle, move my ass. I don´t know what have this album but it´s adictive. I will listen so much and then came back to you. Sol

After listening to Little Sister and audio samples on amazon I don't have the slightest urge to get this one. If anyone wants to have a go at convincing me of its greatness I'll appreciate it.
And, no, "it's great" or the like won't do.
