I just went to the Queens show last Sunday and Mark was there. He looked great and sounded great. My friend got too wasted so I didn't get to stay after the show to meet him this time. All I can say is Nick Oliveri not being there leaves a big gap in the band's sound but having Mark up there for a lot more songs made up for it!! Did anyone see Queens on Conan O'brien on Friday night because Mark was on there with them!!!

He was on Conan? Fuck my arse! I had to work that night I think. Now I'm pissed, but at least he was at the gig you attended. Gives me more hope of seeing him next Sunday. What city btw?

It was Norfolk Virginia. He sang a few songs off Songs for the Deaf and also the new one on Lullabies cd, the one that the guy from ZZ Top plays on that is also the song they did on Conan

Well, the fucker wasn't here in Detroit...thought he would be since he seemed to be showing up everywhere else. One of his flyers for a Screaming Trees album showed up though as I was handed one leaving the gig. How convenient. Anyway, Josh and the gang did a great job of holding it down. Josh even performed "Song for the Dead". Some dipshit threw a lit joint at him and it hit his guitar. He stopped the show and gave him a tongue-lashing basically saying that he should kick his ass. The guard wanted to toss 'em, but Josh let him stay then dedicated a solo to him. Josh is the best, Lanegan can kiss my ass. The least he could've done was show up with Queens after cancelling his solo tour. Yeah, I'm rambling. I just got home and I feel fucked up. Oh and I had a great view. I was at the side of the stage, but right up front and didn't get caught in the pit at all. Nice one. The opening band, Throw Rag was fun in a gross way. One of the guys played a washboard with spoons then he scooped sweat off his ass and flung it into the audience then he scooped some more and drank it. The whole performance wasn't that disgusting, it was entertaining and kinda sexy in a freaky way. Yeah, I wish Eagles of Death Metal could've opened, but what can ya' do? I'm done now, going to bed. Fuck you.

Yes, it looks very likely that he was fired from the tour. I share your pain:
MC5 Mark Lanegan Band QOTSA
Three tickets, no Lanegan.

Yes, it looks very likely that he was fired from the tour. Maybe Mark decided to quit the band! After what Josh said about him the other night on stage!! It seems to me that when this guy has a problem with one of the band's member, he likes to deal with it in public. It did the same with Nick and now Mark. And I do not excuse Mark's behavior, but he is his own man! Maybe Josh should clean his "family" trash within the family instead of doing it in public.

LDG, I really feel bad that you had no warning. At least I'm prepared for the Wednesday show in Minneapolis without Mark. I'm glad you made the best of it!

Josh and the others did the best they could. I was just frustrated and disappointed when "Song for the Dead" started and there was no Mark. At least I know what's going on now, enjoy the gig! ...and I didn't check out the merch. After they were done performing, it was so crowded over there, I left it alone.

Awww, I wish I could've met you.
I ran into the singer of Throw Rag and told 'em they rocked. He was very nice. They had me laughing like crazy.

Queens show Mark was not there. Also the Queens were not there. Just got back from the Quest Club in Minneapolis. The show is cancelled with no explanation. My brother drove six hours to be here, and we didn't find out until we got to the club.
We kind of hope no one died, but we kind of hope someone did.

One of the "news" is this: "QOTSA: Lanegan Leaves + No Return To London Mark Lanegan has confirmed that once again he’s left Queens Of The Stone Age amid rumoured clashes with Queens mainman Josh Homme, plus confirm from London’s Koko that, despite the band’s efforts, they won’t be rearranging cancelled shows." (continued on www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?b=news&id=77172)But if you ask me, that's total bullshit - no one really seems to KNOW anything about anything regarding either of these matters right now. Everybody's just guessing - like myself. That's the story with the "official" media as well, so I wouldn't go trusting on anything printed even in newspapers that says anything about QOTSA right now. People should reveal their sources when they are talking about anything, especially when we're telling things about this band. So let's not consider this as the end of the story.

nme.com have run a similar story to the xfm one. i think you're right keijopotti, no-one knows - pardon the pun - and until they make an official announcement we'll all have to keep guessing. maybe we should run our own sweepstake...

I'm sorry Buttercup That really sucks. I wonder why they had to cancel the show. This is getting ridiculous.
