I don't think there is a thread on this yet, so apologies if there is. Maybe someone can dig it up if it exists. Anyway, the only reason I created it is because I stumbled across a version of Wedding Dress covered by Cypress Grove (the guy who plays guitar on most of the songs from the Jeffery Lee Pierce Sessions Project) It's on his myspace page here: www.myspace.com/cypressgroveandthesignifiers

Lanegan doesn't get covered very often. I think it'd be hard to outdo his vocals on most songs - it's a scary proposition for a singer to take on such huge, definitive vocal parts. You'd have to take them somewhere else.

Zantar, thanks so much for posting that! I was able to find barnac on myspace too: www.myspace.com/barnac...but I can't translate it. Do you have any more information on this? It sounds like barnac may have a cd available? EDIT: ok, i google searched it and got the option to translate this page, which worked pretty good. but still not much info on the lanegan tribute album from 2008. still looking for more info though.

Did you see that Sup Pop thing where the Blitzen Trapper dude talks about buying the Winding Sheet when he was a summer camp counselor? And he credits Lanegan with starting the "Northwest pastoral" movement? Whatever that is...

Hi, this cover of "One Way Street" is from the Spanish National Radio (Radio 3). They made an interview to Crystal Thomas and she sang this song with Edith Crash playing guitar. In the beginning, when she is singing, the dj stop the song because said that there is a problem with the microphone and then they begin again. www.mediafire.com/?4fhwn8p3d8ixixx

I just gave it a listen. Wasn't expecting much of it but I was kind of pleasantly surprised. It stays very true to the original and I feel the song actually works quite well with her voice.
