" Everything is Beautiful " by Mark Eitzel from the album "60 Watt Slver Lining"
The thinnest rope won’t hang you it’ll break and you’ll be just another pen stroke for the sunset or the dawn or the dawn
A little girl child of x or y who doesn’t speak who doesn’t know at least at the right time and that’s all anybody wants not angel wings not invisible things
And everything’s beautiful but babe not you or me
Like a tower ready to fall spinning over the ground like the gorilla ride there’s moments and minutes there’s seasons and there’s dreams glued onto dreams And everything’s beautiful but babe not you or me And everything’s beautiful but babe not you or me
You’re the girl in the paperweight I barely know you you’re so quiet - is there nothing in this weird perspective that’ll let me breathe in the smell of Eden in your eternally open eyes I barely see you I barely see you
And everything’s beautiful but babe not you or me Yeah everything’s beautiful but babe not you or me I barely see you I barely see you I barely see you
And everything’s beautiful but babe not you or me

"SOLD IT TO THE DEVIL" by Black Spider Dumpling
I sold my soul, sold it to the Devil and my heart done turned to stone I sold my soul, sold it to the Devil, he won't let me alone Said i'm hateful and i'm evil, I carries a Gatling gun I drink carbolic acid, be darned if i will run But I sold it, I sold it Sold it to the Devil and my heart done turned to stone.
I done sold my soul, sold it to the Devil, but he won't let me alone I got a little baker shop right downtown Everything i bake, it is nice and brown But I sold it, I sold it Sold it to the Devil, and my heart done turned to stone.
I sold it, I sold it, sold it to the Devil, but he won't let me be 'lone My life it is unhapy, it won't last me long Everything i do, seem like i do's it wrong But I sold it, I sold it Sold it to the Devil, and my heart done turned to stone.
I sold my soul, sold it to the Devil, but he won't let me be 'lone I eat black spider dumplings for my dessert Go to the blacksmith, let him make my shirt But I sold it, I sold it Sold it to the Devil, and my heart done turned to stone.
I sold my soul, sold it to the Devil, but he won't let me be 'lone I live down in the valley, five hundred steps Where the bears and the tigers, they come to take their rest But I sold it, sold it Sold it to the Devil, and my heart done turned to stone.
I done sold my soul, sold it to the Devil, but he won't let me be 'lone I went to a place that I knew so well I shot that Devil right in Hell But I sold it, sold it Sold it to the Devil, and my heart done turned to ... eee-eee-vohl, eee-vohl [evil]

"DOGGONE MY GOOD LUCK SOUL" by Hattie Hudson
Oh, play that thing, Mister Yeverson! The time ain't long now.
I've got a gold horseshoe, going to put it on my door, doggone my good luck soul, Hey, put it on my door; Bad luck has gone from here, it can't come back no more.
Oh lord, I've just got lucky, I believe I'll bet and win, doggone my good luck soul, Hey, believe I'll bet and win, The man I've got right now, took him from my best friend.
Oh, mama, I can't be good, I believe I'll just quit trying, doggone my good luck soul, Hey, believe I'll just quit trying; I don't live in the country, on paved streets all the time.
Been with my same little sugar just ten long years today, doggone my good luck soul, Hey, ten long years today; And if he should quit loving me, I'll throw myself away.
Oh, poor little rabbit, you can hop all in my yard, doggone my good luck soul, Hey, hop all in my yard; I ain't going to take your feet, nor fill your head with scars.
Oh, where's the mean fortune teller, and the black cat that failed? doggone my good luck soul, Hey, the black cat that failed? Come around to see me in the morning, I'm carrying keys to the jail.
I got three good mens, but it's two more in my way, doggone my good luck soul, Hey, two more in my way; And if this good luck don't leave me, I'll love myself away.

I'm not really a religious person, but I would absolutely love to hear Mark sing Amazing Grace. He seems to have a fondness for religious-type or -themed songs, so it's really not a stretch, IMO.

'Death Take Your Fiddle' would sound great with Ol' Grumpy singing!
Now I'm excited to sleep, thinking about the Spiritualized shows coming up in these parts...
What about a nasty perversion of 'I Should Be So Lucky'?

Northern Kings (Finnish Symphonic Metal types) have beaten him to that particular opus - their Rethroned album also includes Take on Me, Kiss From a Rose and We Don't Need Another Hero among other, erm, greats. Youtube's got a selection...

How about "In My Projects?" hahahah can't believe no one liked your suggestion! I'd like him to dress up in a white fur coat and hat and dry hump a Xerox machine, like they did in the MTV VMA promo which used that song. sweeeeet

I'd love to hear him do Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good', because the original's a great song sung by someone very annoying. (And it's featured in the latest Raving Rabbids game on the Wii, which I've been playing quite a lot.. )
