No one answered me before but there aren't more than two Tivoli's in Utrecht are there? no hurries of course. I'll just make sure I find the venue as soon as I get in the city. Both venues are close by each other anyway right? Yes, Tivoli only has two venues They're not really close by each other though, but I'd say the Oudegracht venue is much better than the Helling! It's in the old city centre (in walking distance of, well, everything you need) so you can enjoy yourself there before and after the show. To get to the Helling venue you'd probably have to take a bus, and there's nothing to do there (it's next to a car dealership ).

No one answered me before but there aren't more than two Tivoli's in Utrecht are there? There used to be a Tivoli in Ontario, if I remember right! I always heard the song advertising the place: "Tivoli, it's a miniature world, discover Tivoli, the miniature world..."

Thanks for the reminder . The tivoli raeni is talking about is probably the one in Hamilton. It was one of our historic landmarks until the lobby collapsed a few years back. Which pretty much makes it exactly like the rest of the heritage buildings in this city. Though I saw a picture of the inside of the theatre recently nad it still looks good, maybe someone will fix it up soon.

I guess I should make sure somebody is positive the tickets for "Tivoli de Helling" will be honoured at the "Tivoli Oudegracht." I figure they are but I'm trying not to assume things.
Also what's with 'Stichting Tivoliý'? Apparently Stichting means foundation in Dutch so is that just what the Oudegracht venue is also called? Does it mean 'Tivoli Homebase' or something?

Yeah, it says so on their website (if you run it through a translator you'll see what I mean). So no worries! It's called that because Tivoli is a foundation, as in: that's the kind of legal person they are. Not sure why that is, but then I don't know much about that kind of stuff. I guess as a music venue there must be certain advantages to it.

If they're a foundation and not a commercial venture, they're able to get funding from the government.

I've got a lot to learn out there. I guess it's not all wooden shoes and tulips.
Why do people keep telling me about tulips anyway?

The question is, my dear barriers, why do people tell you about tulips and how does this intervene with the strip search & anal probe i was telling you about?
Oh holland is such a dark dark place.....

yea, I'm trying not to think about that whole cavity invasion you keep warning me about. Tulips are a good distraction.

Is there any chance you could take a later flight without extra costs? If you need help trying to change reservations for accommodation just say the word. I can try and sort stuff out from here The first gig's on tuesday, i'm pretty sure that vulcano thingie will have gone then?

It may be possible, seems doubtful but I'm not sure. I'll do whatever I've got to do at this point basically. I might be forced to just fly anywhere that I can get to Dutchland by train and take it from there. I'll do my damnedest to get there by Tuesday but I was really counting on discovering jetlag before then. I appreciate the offer for help, I'll let you know. I'm emailing the hostels I'm supposed to stay at right now. I should hear back before I head out.

Forget that. I'm fucked. F-u-c-k, fucked. Everything is cancelled up to atleast Tuesday which means making it to Eindhoven would be quite the stretch. And My dad says flying to Africa and trying to figure it out from there is a stupid idea too, maybe he's right . Well, this sucks balls. And I feel bad for wasting tickets to sold-out shows!

Aaaawww Dennis! I am so sorry! Listen, it's still 4 days before the gig. Things can still change. Let me know what i can do to help, and yes, Africa is a bit of a long way but let's say planes fly to Spain, France or Italy for instance, Holland could be easily done by train. I feel so bad for you Bastards!! And thanks for that pm but you are using the Eindhoven hotel reservation my friend!
