Basically there are just 3 days left 'cause tomorrow is closed already, and only 2 days of hope for me... I just can't believe it.

you guys - I really hope this clears up for you. Timing always seems to suck!!! Maybe there will be some freak wind they didn't expect to clear it all up in time.
Leave it to a Mark tour to end up being The Volcanic Eruption Tour.

I often dream of water or the sea, and this time i was standing by a lake and i saw someone get in and start swimming. Hmmmm. God i hope you're not in your trunks now... it is too cold for a swim that lengthy But yes i hope this won't be a problem for anyone

Get there by train woman! I can't get there by train. Finland has international train connections with Russia only and you wouldn't believe the prices. I could jump on a ferry to Stockholm, but it's all booked out by now. And well, the gig in Utrecht was a part of my vacation in Belgium, so if I'm not going there - I'm not going anywhere. Anyways, it's morning now and the sun is shining really bright up here compared to yesterday's greyness and rain, when we were covered with that cloud of ash. So maybe there's still hope. They promised updates on the situation later this afternoon.

Wow, I can't imagine how disappointing this must be for you guys. But let's keep hoping! How are these gigs even going to happen if this keeps up? Without a guitar player?

If this keeps up, I suppose Mark might not make it from the States also.

If this keeps up, I suppose Mark might not make it from the States also. At the moment he'd have to fly to southern Italy or Spain, but Paris, Frankfurt, London or Amsterdam are no go at the moment. I was hoping he'd have stayed here between the Rome show and Utrecht.

I think Mark's already in Europe, after all he was in Rome last week. Don't suppose he'd fly all the way back just for a few days.
Edit-- oh, apparently he did, I just read he went to Seattle for the Soundgarden reunion.

I think Mark's already in Europe, after all he was in Rome last week. Don't suppose he'd fly all the way back just for a few days. That's what I as hoping but this has been posted in the " confirmed dates " thread. Lanegan came back to Seattle to see the newly reunited Soundgarden play their first show since 1997 at the Showbox, he was enjoying the show with his ex-partners Trees, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, The Presidents of the USA, Young Fresh Fellows, Novoselic & Grohl.... onewhiskey.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=boarda&thread=3423&page=10#179570 Which if correct means he was in Seattle on 16th April

I thought the guy had written that as a joke! If he did go back to Seattle, I guess that means that he really likes to be jet lagged...

He could get to Utrecht through Russia if he really wanted to.
I've been looking at flights like that but it seems even sillier now that there is no guarantee they'll even be shows.

Because Chris Cornell's last solo album was a bad joke.

Ugh, i am beginning to hate iceland aswell. Bastards. I hope Lanegan is a good swimmer and he's on his way, like Barriers.... I feel so bad for everyone, including myself, and lanegan and co. This sucks. Barriers, i know.... all the trouble you'd get through without even knowing if the gigs are on seem like a hell of an ordeal. I'll check the latest on dutch airports. Wait for the edit. Edit: Dutch airspace is closed until at least 8 PM sat. new adit: closed until at least sunday 8 AM[/u][/color] KLM Airlines won't fly to or from Schiphol Airport until at least midnight sat. Transavia Airlines won't fly until into sunday. This is all the current state of affairs, obviously it could be lengthened at any time. Ugh

I'm officially not going anywhere anymore. Finland is closed till Monday evening at least, so that does it for me. Is the gig cancelled/postponed already? Whatever it is, I'm not gonna be there. I still hope it won't affect the whole tour as I still have the ticket for the Finnish gig and it would suck major balls if somehow the whole tour would have to be cancelled.

Meh Latest news here is KLM has performed a test flight yesterday which went without issue. Today they are flying 7 empty planes from Düsseldorf to Schiphol and if this goes well, they want to start up air traffic again. Not sure if that includes intercontinental flights from the US as well. Still nothing about the gig being cancelled or postponed. Either they've found some way of getting here, or they're waiting until the last minute?

Can someone call the venue tomorrow maybe and ask what's the state of things? I'm willing to sell my ticket. So even if something fails there, I suppose they won't cancel the gig completely, but postpone it.

I don't think the venue will know more than we do, I guess we'll know if the show is going to happen last minute just like them... That sucks so much that you can't attend the show because of a volcanic eruption... Seriously, what were the odds? This is just surrealist... I guess the show is gonna be postponed, but I'm sure it's gonna be alright for the other shows, the airline companies are gonna find a way to fly soon, they're losing too much money!

If it's possible I'd like someone to use my Eindhoven ticket if they have someone to take who would go for free. I'm not sure how possible it would be to have my ticket left at de Efennaar's door under someone else's name but if someone wants to pm me I'm more than willing to try.
