Oh dear, really not a great setlist at all, very predictable. Wish you well is the only saving grace outside of the new stuff but why not strange religion, lexington slowdown or morning glory wine instead of the played to death Meth blues, CCOL and 100 days? No classic old stuff at all!!! Would have been nice to see a few changes this time around Mark. Oh well hopefully Mark will change up the setlist a lot by the time he hits the UK.

My only worry is the quote off of the rekords rekords link that states he will NOT be touring the states. I guess that may or may not be a complete question or an answer. I wonder if that means he will not tour extensively in the US (still play his usual spots) or will not play any more shows in the US at all. I would hope that he would at least cherry pick some spots. I have seen him with Soulsavers, IC and Twilight Singers in St Louis and Chicago so I know there are crowds that will assemble in those areas. I think that I would be pretty bitter if he goes out for 6+ months and never sets foot within 500 miles of me here in the Midwest USA. I have had to miss shows because of conflicts and I am ok with that. I have obligations, but to have no realistic chance to see a solo show would be pretty upsetting to me. Flying to a show is just not a viable option at this point. Wait and see what that means I guess.

If he is selling any 'new' live c'ds i'll be sure to send ya one . Lostcause... why does an American musician like Mark not tour the US more? Being from the UK i find it rather odd. What are the factors involved?

What are the factors involved? Artists make much more money touring Europe than in the states. Europeans for the most part are willing to pay more for club dates, many of the clubs in europe put you up for the night and feed you well too. I have friends in bands here in Portland that choose to tour Europe anytime over the states. They actually come home with $!

I think that travel distance is a huge factor. Venues are much further apart. It might not pay as well. I would imagine money becomes the largest factor either spending more or not being paid as much or both. In addition his largest and most concentrated fan base is on EU. I don't think crowds in the larger cities would be an issue but there is a reason he only plays the west coast normally.

“…and that’s where I met my wife.”
Ha! How true. The missus loved the stuff with Isobel but she told me I was on my own for the man alone...

instead of the played to death Meth blues, CCOL and 100 days? No classic old stuff at all!!! Would have been nice to see a few changes this time around Mark. For many of us, it was our first time seeing him live, solo, so none of those songs counted as "played to death" They were all first-time plays for me. Now, I would have loved some Wheels or Stay or anything else of that era, but I was quite happy to get what I got. -Rob

I was able to see the setlist from my spot, unfortunately I couldn't snag it after the show - but the very last song on the set list, after One Way Street was Crawl Space. It didn't get played but maybe it will another time.
Does anyone know who the musicians were? I thought the guitarist and keyboard player were great musicians.
I picked up the 10" Union Chapel, a cd of the Hollywood Forever show and a Live In Studio Antwerp cd. That is going to become my new favorite cd!
There was also a Live Mark/Isobel for sale and one other that I can't recall, and hope I don't regret not picking up.

1. Bleeding Muddy Water 2. Can't Come Down 3. The Gravedigger's Song 4. Harborview Hospital 5. Ode to Sad Disco 6. Phantasmagoria Blues 7. Quiver Syndrome 8. Resurrection Song 9. Sleep With Me 10. Tiny Grain of Truth 11. Wish You Well
I can't help but wonder if this wasn't a band rehearsal for the upcoming shows. Fantastic recording.

Yep, looks like a stamp, just like the others. This one is in red ink, with a shape of what I'm guessing is Belguim and a date of December 2011.
There were 2 Hollywood Forever cd's, each with a different color stamp. I bought just the one thinking (hoping) they were the same cd.
Of course, Blues Funeral was for sale in both cd and album versions. The merch guy did not know what color the vinyl was. Since I already have the grey, I was hoping to purchase the green.

There's the keyboard player and guitarist in the center. However, the drummer looked like a younger dude and the bass player is not in that pic. It all makes sense now, rehearsing in Belgium.

First time seeing Mark live and it was fantastic. Not sure why but I'm pretty new to Mark's music outside of QOTSA/Mad Season so I was beyond excited when I saw this NYC show announced. Was able to grab a spot right up front and loved every second of the show. Possible show of the year for me, and I go to a ton of them. After the show he said he'll be back touring here in May so I hope he hits up multiple east coast cities.

Can´t wait to visit the upcoming concerts by myself. Like the very positive reviews. And we have a new live CD as well. I am quite sure it won´t be the last Live record of the tour :-).
