My fellow US residents, do not despair, on Facebook the announcement says "US dates coming very soon." i predict NYC, DC, Philly, LA, and maybe Seattle coming soon, yeah like I said already 2015 With my luck, dates will be more like NYC, DC, Philly, LA, Eugene, OR and Spokane, WA and / or there will be 2 SEA shows at the 5th Avenue Theatre starting at 8pm on days I can't get out of work and every other show will be at a 21+ club show I think the string section should lead us to believe these sets will be heavy on the Imitations tracks, but let's imagine some ML classics with strings, safe bet No Easy Action or any MLB song he played with Gutter Twins because at least both shows in Seattle they had cello arrangements for all the non GT songs in the encore

Yeah and hopefully some Trees tunes he played before like Shadow, Dying Days, Halo, Twain, etc.
I have to say I'm really excited at the possibility that he may be doing an acoustic-style show here in the States. I've seen him numerous times now but it's always been with a full band. There are many venues that would definitely suite this kind of show, too, in DC. The Sixth and I Historic Synagogue comes to mind. Wishful thinking....patiently waiting for more detail....

Hopefully he will play longer than 53 minutes because it's getting not worth the money (well I know he could sing 1 song and I would be happy but come on...)

Have I not read the post thoroughly? The length of the LP? I'm gonna fly from one end of the world to the other to see him and if I get 53mins and a chat it will be worth every penny

Nice, so he WILL be playing the Synagogue in DC, exciting news indeed, great venue for an acoustic show.

Leeds is closest for me so will hopefully be going to that I really wish he's bring Alain johannes along as the support act for him, I've seen Garwood open for him too many times now.

Booked for the Queens Hall in Edinburgh - Row C in the Stalls. I had a similar ticket for Suggs last year and you couldn't ask for a better view.

Got my ticket for the Paris one ! I hope there will be the string section here too, and some classics played in addition to the covers ^^ I would love to go back to the Union Chapel, but that's not reasonable (probably around 200€ in total with travel and hotel, I know it's Mark, but I already spend more than that for the 2010 show, so I will probably skip this one).

Oh and I fucking hope that Mark will be on the QOTSA shows of the 13th and 14th... and that Josh will be at the Alhambra on the 15th

Lanegan is playing in Eindhoven on the 13th so he won't be with the Queens, maybe on the 14th... Kinda sucks because I didn't want to go to this show but I'll be gutted if I miss Lanegan with them!

Oh I hadn't noticed that, thanks bibi ! You should go really, the last QOTSA album is great, especially I Appear Missing. Now if you're not at all into QOTSA, 50 euros just for hoping that Mark will be there on one or two songs... You should probably spend that on the Union Chapel show instead ^^

I saw them at the Trianon, good show but not worth 50 bucks in my opinion...

I tried to obtain a ticket for the Trianon during something like 3 hours, without success I agree that 50 euros is a lot of money, but I would have preferred spend that for the Trianon than the Zenith (Well, in fact I would have paid for the 2 Zeniths too anyway, as I'm a huge QOTSA fan, but the Trianon is a much better venue).

I'm booked for QOTSA in Glasgow but its a couple of weeks after Mark's show in Edinburgh (50 miles from Glasgow), and I can't see him being at the Queens show for a cameo appearance.

Booked for the Queens Hall in Edinburgh - Row C in the Stalls. I had a similar ticket for Suggs last year and you couldn't ask for a better view. Row F. I was at the Queens Hall tonight for a jazz festival thing. It's a lovely wee hall. I used to go there a lot when I had a season subscription for the Scottish chamber orchestra.I prefer the downstairs section, the gallery has incredibly uncomfortable seating. The best thing is it's a hall which completely discourages talking and getting up to go to the bar during the performance.

She went to a piano recital and had a seat in the Gallery and couldn't see the Piano below! I don't know if they will force you to sit, but everyone stood up when Suggs played songs in his performance last year. Sitting at a rock concert isn't much fun, as I found out a few years ago at an all-seated Robert Plant gig at the Usher Hall.

The non classical shows I've seen at the Queens Hall were very firmly seated throughout. If the Plant show you're referring to was the Band of Joy tour I got very annoyed by the constant coming and going but I have a bit of a thing about audience etiquette or the lack of it. I suppose because the vast majority of things I've seen have been classical and having been taken to classical concerts from a very early age I find it very strange that people talk during the performance. And for seated performances , sorry unless you're having a heart attack or going into labour wait until the interval. The Plant show was fine seated. The Jack White show at the Usher Hall where they had removed the ground floor seating was terrible, appalling sound

The Jack White show at the Usher Hall where they had removed the ground floor seating was terrible, appalling sound You are right - it was the Band of Joy tour at the Usher Hall. What annoyed me more was that some girls stood up in front of me and wouldn't sit down. I know if I stood up I'd be shouted down from behind. I felt a bit of a hypocrite. I was also at the Jack White gig but near the front. I didn't notice the sound problems too much from my position, but heard others complain when the crowd was leaving after the gig. As for the Queens Hall, I've only been to one proper gig there (the Suggs performance was a show in the Fringe with a handful of songs interspersed). I saw Idlewild before they got reasonably popular for a while.

The 5th of November gig at the Sugar Club is sold out. Tickets are available for the 6th though, at the same venue (at least there were about an hour or so of this post).
