I wanted Come On Over (Turn Me On) for the first dance when the girlfriend and I eventually get hitched. She hates Campbells voice with a passion though, so it aint gonna happen.

I've seen mp3s of I Wanna Make It Wit Chu tagged as having Lanegan as vocalist.

For the life of me I just don't hear any resemblance at all. I've seen this discussion happen before and, I don't know, it just sounds nothing like Lanegan.

Can anyone remember how well Ballad of the Broken Seas did on initial release, and indeed after it's Mercury nomination?

New entry at number 38 in the official uk album charts (Radio 1). Hopefully it will move up a fair bit in the coming weeks.

According to leehanson over at the Ford Board, this will be released on the 11th of August. Anyone over this end of the 'net heard anything about this?

I kind of had a feeling the performance last night was a different one. I thought maybe they'd tweaked the audio, and cut in a few different camera angles and shots into the crowd. I suppose the fact that Jools' introduction for them last night was different from Tuesday's it should have been more obvious to me, but I wasn't 100% sure. Thanks for the info.

"God's Children" definitely started off a little wonky, it seemed to be a bit out of time or something, but, I don't know, maybe they relaxed into it because it seemed fine from the first chorus on if my memory is right.

No problem. I was just gonna stick a link in here but you've sorted that out nicely. "Idle Hands" definitely sounded a lot better than it did on Tuesday didn't it? On Tuesday it didn't grip me at all, but when it kicked off last night I was close to jumping around the room to it. Did you notice that the video footage was a slightly different edit to Tuesday's? They inserted a few new camera shots, and excised others, pretty cool. Unfortunately for some of you ladies out there, and no doubt some men, they removed a short shot of Greg wiggling his ass at the camera.
"God's Children" was fantastic too, nice that it was the final song of the show. I was unsure of it to begin with, but it all came together very well.

During the introductions on the show, as the camera panned along the artists, I must admit to having a quick giggle as Mark appeared sitting on a stool, glaring at the camera. I'm sure he wasn't really glaring of course, but I found it amusing none the less.

I think I'd hyped myself up a bit too much for this, so hearing Idle Hands was somewhat of a disappointment, albeit a really tiny disappointment. But, it was great to see the guy's on the telly and it was a great performance so that's what counts. Personally I'd have loved to have heard Seven Stories Underground or The Stations. Also I think Bete Noir would have showcased them as a great rock band as much as Idle Hands does, maybe more so, although Idle Hands may be a bit more accessible.
Sound wise, as previously stated, it wasn't great, but as long as they're getting telly coverage like this I don't think I'll complain.

I plan on obtaining the main Friday show from a certain website, but as far as I can see the live Tuesday sessions aren't ever released there. And as long as I can find the right tools to split the file, I should be able to get it to you good people.

de worde who's that in your avatar? The avatar is a picture of Joanna Lumley, as her character from "Absolutely Fabulous". Except it wasn't when the original question was asked, it was Nina Hagen, sorry. In the picture of her in your post Gaukeley, she looks like Tracey Emin (British "artist"). Oh, and your cat is great, fluttles. T. Edited due to Gaukeley.

I'm digging the typography and design of Ms. Sins idea, and the attitude of Flutttergirls design. I'm thinking Fluttergirls piece might be a nice sleeve design.

Admittedly I know nothing about playing guitar in the technical sense, but :
pretty much sums up how the guitar solo feels to me. It's raw and ramshackle, almost improvised in feel, that's what I really like about it. Maybe you could explain to an idiot (me) what is wrong with the solo in the context of the song (in your perspective)?

When you say "even if guitar is shite", what guitar part do you mean exactly? Personally I love the guitar solo, very much a Trees vibe to it.
