Corgan told the Chicago Tribune in a new interview that the response to the band's two upcoming album will play a big role in deciding the PUMPKINS' future. He explained, "When this [new album] process is over, I'm either going to bail on this ship for good, like 'I'm done,' or I'm going to have a new ship to sail on." Corgan admitted it's been hard to get fans to pay attention to new music from the group, saying, "How do you say, 'I still matter'? How do you say, 'How does one of my contemporaries get treated like a contemporary artist, and how do I get treated like I'm supposed to play 'Siamese Dream' for the rest of my life?' At some point you've got to fight this fight or go away." Read more at www.blabbermouth.net/news/billy-corgan-may-break-up-smashing-pumpkins-again/#OuOltcbwLTsAmRTo.99

McCready playing ANYTHING besides pearl jam is a win for ears of the world! Barrett and Mike are the only ones left, they are the only ones who know the whole story and they are the only ones who can decide whats best for the Mad Season name/brand. If they decide its worth doing again I will most certainly check it out because I am a fan of both. Now that the money is gone I get more intrigued by these projects because there is no gain whatsoever, its just getting whats inside out and that is what making music is all about.

Why not? It was no problem when Mark was singing, but now that they may incorporate a new singer its not such a good idea anymore?

MORE GOOD NEWS ! soundcloud.com/godflesh-2/new-dark-agesReformed U.K. industrial metal pioneers GODFLESH will release their new album, "A World Lit Only By Fire", on October 7 via GODFLESH frontman Justin K. Broadrick's Avalanche Recordings. The track listing for the CD is as follows: 01. New Dark Ages 02. Deadend 03. Shut Me Down 04. Life Giver Life Taker 05. Obeyed 06. Curse Us All 07. Carrion 08. Imperator 09. Towers Of Emptiness 10. Forgive Our Fathers The song "New Dark Ages" can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. In an interview with the French radio station Le 106, Justin K. Broadrick stated about the band's forthcoming album: "It will be [musically] similar to the first two or three [GODFLESH albums]. I just think, like we're playing these shows, we feel very pure about we're doing and honoring the initial intentions with what we originally set out to do. Which, I think, like most bands and musicians and all the rest of it, by the time you get on to your fourth album, it's somewhat of a dilution going on to what you initially tried to achieve. It will definitely sound aggressive and it probably won't sound like any of the other records we've made, but it will have the minimalism of the first few records." Added GODFLESH bassist G.C. Green: "It won't sound like the first two record; it will be more the spirit… When you make records over the years, you change as people, you change as musicians, you progress, you develop and you take other styles on, but I think, having had a break from it and come back to it, it seems that we've gone straight back into what the essence of it was originally, and that's why it feels good." Continued Justin: "It's getting straight back to the core of what this is all about. And I think having a break from it has probably even more inspired… It's like refocusing and obviously, we're somewhat older and wiser. It's gonna be a really interesting record. It's extremely minimal and very, very brutal — a fairly unforgiving record, really, I think." GODFLESH's "Decline & Fall" EP was released on June 26 in the U.S. via Avalanche Recordings. The Japanese version of the EP includes two bonus songs. GODFLESH released its first new recording in over 12 years through Decibel magazine's Flexi Series. A cover of the track "F.O.D. (Fuck of Death)" by legendary death thrashers SLAUGHTER (Canada) was included in the subscriber version of the magazine's November 2013 issue. Oh yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE MELVINS return with "Hold It In", their first studio album as a quartet since 2010's "The Bride Screams Murder", on October 14. The new CD was recorded in both Los Angeles and Austin earlier this year. Joining Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover for the 12-song outing are BUTTHOLE SURFERS' guitar player Paul Leary and bass player JD Pinkus. "'Hold It In' is a refreshing piece of fiction in a boring world of fact and bullshit," said Osborne. "Paul is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard and Pinkus has an outside the box type of approach to both guitar and bass that you just have to let it ride. "I can't believe this actually happened. I'm thrilled." "It's very rare you get a chance to work with three folks from the 'Break A Wish' foundation, all at the same time," said Pinkus. "I believe they'll remember their experience with me forever (or until they finally all lose their fight with S.I.D.S)." THE MELVINS kick off a round of U.S. tour dates on October 15 in Sacramento at Assembly, which also includes a performance at this year's Voodoo Experience in New Orleans. Osborne, Crover and Pinkus will be the touring lineup for this run of dates. Read more at www.blabbermouth.net/news/the-melvins-to-release-hold-it-in-in-october/#U0Qcj4sBLQIbOFiP.99

I think I would like Mascis more if he was the angry lead guitarist who only gets 30 seconds in each boring pop song to shine and he knocked it out if the park every time, but when you find out he wrote the rest of the song you feel a little deflated....

ok well 12:05 minutes of whacking off, I stand corrected...... Well if you don't enjoy his rhythm/lead combos in Dinosaur Jr or his "whacking off" there's no hope for you. Seems like you were pretty much closed to the possibility anway... haha, cut me some slack I did listen to the whole song at least which is more then I can say for his acoustic gig at sub pop, I believe we left after about 8 minutes to go watch fat greg dulli waddle out of his motorhome 30 minutes late like a "real rock star" somehow that was slightly more entertaining, but just barely....
