Just received an e-mail saying that release has been "pushed back to the 2nd of January". All this earlier-than-expected for the physical release might rely on some misunderstanding. You're speaking of the 7", not the LP, right?

The duration of the songs are a little bigger ... 1 The Gravedigger’s Song 3.43 2 Bleeding Muddy Water 6.17 3 Gray Goes Black 4.11 4 St Louis Elegy 4.34 5 Riot In My House 3.53 6 Ode To Sad Disco 6.24 7 Phantasmagoria Blues 3.16 8 Quiver Syndrome 4.03 9 Harborview Hospital 4.31 10 Leviathan 4.22 11 Deep Black Vanishing Train 3.06 12 Tiny Grain Of Truth 7.07 Where do you all find these things?! Thanks for posting, mate. I'm really surprised at how long this album is, kind of unusual for Mark considering a majority of his songs seem to be around the 3.5 minute mark. IMO, this is definitely a good thing, looks like we could have some epic songs and given that it's been over 7 years since the last album, I really don't want songs that end too quickly... Edit: 500th post baby! I've found here: 4ad.com/releases/21423

I need to put this on a cd so I can listen to it in my car.... but it seems a waste of a cd to just put two songs on it. I guess I'll put the other Burning Jacobs Ladder, and perhaps Josephine and Skeletal History fit the mood. Anyone have any other ideas?

If you guys can't wait until January for the 7" there's a store in the Netherlands with 2 copies left for sale on e Bay. They're $16.99 brand new and shipping is free. I guess the release date over there was December 1st so he's already selling and shipping his copies. Better hurry!!!

i am diggin this one, I love the feel of it, there are a couple of high register guitar melodies towards the end that I found a bit lame and un-needed, but overall this is BADASS !

The French part (as far as I can tell) is something like Tout est noir, mon amour Tout est blanc Je t'aime, mon amour Comme j'aime la nuit Everything is dark, my love Everything is light I love you, my love As I love the night I'm very impressed just it is "comme j'aime la pluie" but your ear is good Tout est noir, mon amour Tout est blanc Je t'aime, mon amour Comme j'aime la pluie Everything is dark, my love Everything is light I love you, my love As I love the rain

So close!!! I was sure it was "nuit" based on content, but I'm happy to have been so close to begin with.

This electronic vibe is interesting, that Bomb the Bass song with him was fun.

And "night" rhymes with "light."
Too bad its not pluie, parapluie is one of my favorite words.

Thanks rsinner but I'm not holding off on downloading the song because of any moral quandry (though of course I wouldn't want to cum on the man's back, nor tell him that it is raining.. err... so to speak) Thank you for that window to the past. It makes me smile.

I once again feel stupid that I am waiting for a physical copy in my hands before I listen to it. I only do that for a few special artists but it's so hard sometimes! I'm just glad it is being released as a 7" so hopefully I can get my paws on that before I flip out. I haven't felt this stupid since I refused to download 'Idle Hands.' It was worth it though. Bubblegum more so. I refuse too!! ;D ;D I almost always wait if I know I want the CD anyway. I didn't listen to Last Words before I had the CD in my hand either. Thinking positive thoughts for our mortality~~~~~.....

Today KCRW in LA, on Morning Becomes Eclectic, played "The immigrant Song" covered by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross & Karen O from the soundtrack for the US movie of "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"...followed by The Gravedigger's Song - my two favorite new songs back to back...yaaahoo....

I respect you guys, don't get me wrong, I just don't understand why you choose to wait. I grabbed the single on itunes so he's still getting paid and my 7" has already been shipped from the Netherlands and will be here soon. It's such a killer song and the "new" version of Burning Jacob's Ladder is definately worth owning as well. I'm sure we've all pre-ordered the full length for February but I say fuck yr pride (or whatever it is that has you waiting) and enjoy the song now. And honestly, I say that with 100% respect. What if you get struck by lightning before February 7th??? It happens ya know.

I agree that its silly to wait. Its not like the song has been leaked illegally.... they want us to listen to it!
Having heard Saturnalia streaming online a week early did not diminish the joy of buying the cd the day it came out and listening to it in my car in the rain.

I don't think it's silly, it's just how someone chooses to listen. I was thinking about this last night on my way home from a really excellent show in LA, and I started to write about it here but it's too off topic. Check out the 'information age' post I'm about to make for pointless but possibly interesting philosophical discussion.

I guess I'm just a bit romantic about it. It's sorta like not fucking a girl on the first date.
