The synth reminds me a bit like King Missile...Wind up toys...a beautiful song in its own right. I can't wait for this to drop.

All bets are off - all preconceived notions, any and every idea of what Lanegan "sounds like," any expectations of stylistic retread/rehashing of old songs, take all those old hopes and wants and set them aside - I am so fucking excited, I will hear things I have never heard Mark do before on this record (I already have), and that is sublimely wonderful. I am really looking forward to hearing what other tricks he's got up his sleeve, on this album and in the future.

Wow. Incredible. I love it. Reminds me of The Cure's Disintegration in a way.

If that brief snippet at the end is the beginning of the next track it sounds like our typical Lanegan slow burner may still be lurking around. ;D

I've just listened to it once, it's a cool sounding song but I need to listen a few more times to come up with an opinion. Could somebody transcribe the lyrics? Thanks!

Struggling to resist the leak I'd sworn I wouldn't listen to any leaks, and managed to resist 10 sec...

It's not really a "leak". It was played on a radio station and then podcasted.

Was my first impression too, but I love it. It seems to have a very 80s electronica vibe to the music though Mark's voice is just so good. I'ma gonna listen to this a lot tonight. xxx

Struggling to resist the leak I'd sworn I wouldn't listen to any leaks, and managed to resist 10 sec... I surrendered like a total coward. Strangely, even though I've been a U2 fan for years now, I don't hear any traces of their music in HH. It kinda reminds me of Boards Of Canada. I like how it gets all icy-psychedelic towards the end. Sounds though like there could be a rough transition between HH and Leviathan. I hope not.
