Merch: All the live CDs (I didn't notice anything new), the tour poster, Imitations on vinyl and CD. I think maybe Imitations vinyl was a test pressing? I didn't read all the signs well enough, I saw 'test pressing' on something. Sean and Zander had 2 CDs available as well.

I don't feel like making a separate thread for this - Roll Call for Portland and Seattle - I'll be at both. Miracle, Groundzero, are you two still going to Portland?

I didnt manage to get it pictures for posterity, but it was basically the same as LA's. Jeff was going to start playing a song (unknown as to which) and Mark snapped him with a towel. Great show! Portland is such arespectful and enthusiastic audience. I was glad to see and hang with Grumpella! I'll post pictures when my vacation is over.

Hello everyone....I went to the Seattle show last night. Great show all around. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the Merchandise table, all of the vinyl was sold, but I was told they are holding a few for each show. So...is there anyone that will take Paypal money that can try and pick me up any of the vinyl that is on sale? Please, oh please...I was so bummed that I didn't get a copy for being there 20 minutes after the doors opened.
If you can, email me at mikec (at) axisrecapital (dot) com and I'll Paypal you immediately!

Went to the show last night. Gig was beyond words. The Old Town School of Folk Music was an ideal setting for a show like this. I think that both the crowd and the artists enjoyed the setting. Sean Wheeler mentioned how strange it was that the crowd was sitting intently and listening as well as the fact that they could easily hear themselves. I saw Tom Waits at the Fox Theater in St Louis and the setting enhanced the show in many ways. I think this show the setting was intimate, simple and the sound was impeccable. Every nuance of Jeff's guitar and Mark's vocals were front and center. My wife who had never heard of Sean Wheeler and Zander Schloss was smitten with them and their show. They were great and you could tell that they were moved by the feel of the show to change some things up. Funny as hell as always and touching heartfelt songs. Mark's vocal performance was as powerful as always but the words had much more impact int he intimate surroundings. This was more than I could have imagined listening to similar shows like Union Chapel or Dublin. The guitar tone that Jeff achieved (I am a guitar geek but a noise maker not much of a player) was perfect for these songs. I got to meet Mark and he signed a painting that my friend painted of Mark. He messed around with me a bit and acted like I was giving it to him. Me being a little in awe did not quite know what to make of it. I think he had a good chuckle. The night was pretty perfect all around.
I cannot thank Mark enough for stopping in Chicago each of these tours lately.

Boston- super early. I got there early as I could, but they were halfway through Cherry Tree Carol when I walked in. The venue's site said doors at 6, show at 7- but they must have started much earlier than that, as it was about 7:30 when I got there.
Vinyl was sold out by 7:30.
The show was meh. Mark seems ill- didn't sound good and his limp seems worse than ever. Chatty though. He commented on how sparse the crowd was.

I'm sure Nine Inch Nails also playing Boston could have been a factor. I would have gone to this show if I already didn't have a will call only ticket for NIN.

Sean and Zander finished their set at around 7:15, right when I walked in. Mark started not even 10 minutes after that. Was kind of surprised at him being so chatty, something along the lines of "Last time I was at this place, Sean was in a band called Throw Rag, and I was in Queens of the Stone Age, the place was a lot more crowded then, but that's ok". Definitely not one of the best Lanegan gigs I've been to, still glad I went. Looking forward to Philly tonight.

Portland Set list: Gravedigger song One Hundred days Mirrored- Was the best imo Dont forget me Resurrection song Phantasmagoria Blues Wedding Dress One way street Josephine Carry home-? Wildflowers Jesus program Halo of Ashes-Screaming trees There was a few songs from imitations, and for the life of me I cant remember which ones.. None off Whiskey tho. My favorite!! Never the less, it was amazing! If there is anyone that has any that I missed or have incorrect please correct me. It was an amazing show and I drove from Idaho to see him. Everyone got to meet him after the show and I was nervous as hell! haha Nothing like meeting your most revered artist! He was friendly and it was very nice of him to take the time to meet everyone and sign their merchandise. Sean and Zander put on an amazing set as well. Nice humble fellows with great talent as well. Complimented the show nicely.

Partial setlist for the Chicago Old Town School of Folk Music show:
Gravedigger's Song Bombed Phastasmagoria Blues Autumn Leaves Halo of Ashes You Only Live Twice Mirrored One Hundred Days Mack the Knife On Jesus' Program
I was really late to the concert and unfortunately didn't see Sean Wheeler and Zander Schloss at all. Not sure how many songs I missed at the beginning so if anyone can add to this set list, I would appreciate it. Mark was limping and looked really thin. From where I sat in the balcony it appeared he was either barefoot or wearing only socks but maybe it was just because I was viewing from a strange angle. He was talking a little. This was only my second time seeing him but I often hear people comment about how he usually doesn't speak to the audience so that was surprising. He seemed to enjoy the venue and mentioned that he appreciated the "beautiful people in this beautiful place". Great performance, worried about his frail appearance a little.
LostCause-Old Town School of Folk is a really nice venue, I agree. The surrounding neighborhood was full of restaurants and bars and was fun to explore after the concert. Please tell me that I didn't miss a bunch of songs at the beginning...!

Portland Set list: Gravedigger song One Hundred days Mirrored- Was the best imo Dont forget me Resurrection song Phantasmagoria Blues Wedding Dress One way street Josephine Carry home-? Wildflowers Jesus program Halo of Ashes-Screaming trees They definitely didn't perform Carry Home. And yes Mirorred is the best. I unfortunately didn't get a picture of the setlist [same as Troubador], or the signs entering the venue reading: NO MOSHING NO STAGEDIVING. Portland had such a respectful audience, but it seemed so formal as it was a seated show. He whipped Jeff with a towel when he was about to start some unknown song, which we never figured out which it was. As much as I thought I'd dislike S.F's outdoor festival setting, I'm going to say it was my favorite of the three I saw. l.A was great, but SF was sooooo odd and beautiful. I'll post some Portland pictures at some point. And my now inscribed SoulSavers vinyl gatefold..

This talk of Mark limping and looking frail is a bit concerning. Has he always had a limp from a previous injury? Guess I didn't know/never noticed before and I've seen him like 7 times already. Will see how he looks in Philly tonight.

I thought he looked thin in LA - but then, he's been touring insanely. He seemed in good health/spirits at the signing afterwards. As far as the limp - Mark has always had his own lanky way of moving, it's pretty distinct. A few of the old Trees articles mention how he got run over by a tractor in his youth and broke his legs. I'm not sure about an actual limp now, but he did sit down during Jeff's playing at the end of the LA show, as he's apparently done at some of the others. I felt it was more of a 'focus on Jeff' thing than a frailty. What freaked me out was he was wearing white shoes, something I haven't seen before - maybe that accounts for the look of stocking feet?

Jeff Fielder is backing Mark on electric guitar. And he loves Halo of Ashes!

The Chicago setlist was:
When Your Number Isn't Up Cherry Tree Carol One Way Street Don't Forget Me Where the Twain Shall Meet Gravedigger's Song Phantasmagoria Blues Can't Catch the Train Mack the Knife You Only Live Twice Autumn Leaves Resurrection Song One Hundred Days Mirrored On Jesus' Program Bombed Wild Flowers Halo Of Ashes
I thought it was a really great show. He talked more than when I've seen him before, but I couldn't understand most of what he said. He was definitely wearing shoes, but I'm not sure what kind of shoes. He took a few breaks between songs to drink a Red Bull. I'd never been to the Old Town School of Folk Music before but it was a very nice venue.
