I wonder why he hasn't played a single song from Whisky the entire tour. Songs like Pendulum, Dead on you, Beggars Blues are some amazing tunes. I put together some of my photos to Pendulum a while ago.. Not sure how links work here but I will give it a go! www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-YFKaaMYe0

This talk of Mark limping and looking frail is a bit concerning. Has he always had a limp from a previous injury? Guess I didn't know/never noticed before and I've seen him like 7 times already. Will see how he looks in Philly tonight. He didn't limp when I saw him last year either. His gait was a little funny-like he rode a horse for a couple of hundred miles to Chicago to perform. Other than being really thin he was in very good spirits, sang his heart out and seemed pleased with the crowd. I was thrilled to hear him talk to the audience....

I thought he looked thin in LA - but then, he's been touring insanely. He seemed in good health/spirits at the signing afterwards. As far as the limp - Mark has always had his own lanky way of moving, it's pretty distinct. A few of the old Trees articles mention how he got run over by a tractor in his youth and broke his legs. I'm not sure about an actual limp now, but he did sit down during Jeff's playing at the end of the LA show, as he's apparently done at some of the others. I felt it was more of a 'focus on Jeff' thing than a frailty. What freaked me out was he was wearing white shoes, something I haven't seen before - maybe that accounts for the look of stocking feet? He sat down while Jeff performed in Chicago too. By frail I just meant how thin he was compared to last year. What did the white shoes look like? Were they crooner-ish patent leather? He didn't have on white shoes but I liked his Buddy Holly glasses.

The Chicago setlist was: When Your Number Isn't Up Cherry Tree Carol One Way Street Don't Forget Me Where the Twain Shall Meet Gravedigger's Song Phantasmagoria Blues Can't Catch the Train Mack the Knife You Only Live Twice Autumn Leaves Resurrection Song One Hundred Days Mirrored On Jesus' Program Bombed Wild Flowers Halo Of Ashes I thought it was a really great show. He talked more than when I've seen him before, but I couldn't understand most of what he said. He was definitely wearing shoes, but I'm not sure what kind of shoes. He took a few breaks between songs to drink a Red Bull. I'd never been to the Old Town School of Folk Music before but it was a very nice venue. Thanks for the complete set list, 325. Even though I missed a big part of it I thought it was a great show too. Well worth the long drive from out of state and getting stuck in traffic on the Dan Ryan for over an hour. About his shoes or lack thereof-when I saw him in Hamtramck last year I was standing to his left at the raised stage almost eye-level with his shoes. This time I was looking down from the balcony and kept staring at his feet trying to decide if he was performing in socks or not. Feet seem to be a trend in my concert experiences with him thus far. Hopefully someone captured the white shoes on camera and will share...

Portland Set list: Josephine Of everything I have read about the shows this song being played at one show is the one thing that sticks out to me. Since you had Carry Home on idahopg's setlist that we were told was not played can anyone confirm that Josephine was in fact played at the Portland show. If so that is way cool. I would love to hear or have loved to hear that. It is one of my favorites.

Hi all,
Just wanted to say that the Philadelphia show was fantastic and the setlist was the exact same as the Chicago one listed earlier.

All I cut out was the minute or so of applauding between the main set & the encore (personal preference, as I don't really want to listen to two minutes of WOOOOO WOOOOOO). Neither was Wedding Dress played, for that matter.

just got back from the DC show. Excellent as usual although I thought it would be with an acoustic guitar rather than electric but still good. Picked up the poster and CD both signed by Mark who looked and sounded fine. I tried recording the show but my mic was set too high and its all clipped. Tried asking sound guys in the beginning if I could hook things up for a lossless recording and they supposedly checked with Mark who said no. There was no vinyl, not even the regular albums. I have them already (including the 10" & Live in Mexico;)

Yeah I was really bummed about there being no vinyl in Philly. Those are sales Mark's missing out on. I do not have them (Mexico and the 10").

I'm more into noticing the ladies shoes. That reminds me, while we were waiting in line for his signature, he actually walked from behind a few of us in line to the front and passed right by me. Tall dude that Lanegan

Tall, and he growls. Seriously. I was WAY early for Seattle, he came hurrying out (I tried to duck out of his sight and not look a total weirdo), when he came back and found himself locked out, he growled. It was kinda adorable, in a lovin-the-grumpy sort of way.

Great show tonight at the Gramercy in New York. Same setlist but no Wild Flowers. Can't Catch The Train was awesome. Wasn't crazy about the electric guitar at first but the sound improved as the show went on. I can see why people are concerned about Mark, he looked to be in rough shape.
Only merch was the poster and 4 bootleg CDs. Finally snagged the Christmas CD. Got Mark to sign it. Never gonna wait on line to meet him again cuz I always sound like an idiot.
Spoke to Jeff Fielder outside the venue and he told me they'll have a violin, cello, and bass on the European tour.
As luck would have it, Raven Lullaby was 2 rows behind me. Nice to see you again O.

Good seeing you too sepulqotsa! Loved the show, too bad we didn't get Resurrection Song & Wild Flowers. You were probably long gone by the time we got to Mark as we ended up almost in back of the line. Got my WFTHG & Winding Sheet cds signed (finally) and got to chat with Sean and Zander for a while since almost everyone was gone by then, such nice guys. Of the 3 shows I saw this tour, Philadelphia at Underground Arts was probably my favorite, just great vibe at that venue.

I think he's just been suffering from a bad head cold--it was evident he sounded more congested at the DC show Monday night than he did in Philly Saturday night.
That said, I'm so glad I decided to go to the Philly show, cause the sound was a hell of a lot better than the DC show which was really disappointing for me as I had high hopes for the Synagogue venue having been to shows there in the past (acoustics are usually great). Biggest issue I think was that the guitar was up WAY too loud in the mix, there were a handful of songs where I feel like I could hardly hear Mark at all. On top of Mark being sick, it wasn't his strongest vocal performance either (compared to Philly) because he was noticeably fighting the head cold, but he still muscled through the show pretty well considering.
DC setlist was the same as Philly minus One Hundred Days and Wild Flowers. Felt like he was on for about an hour, tops, which felt too short. Anyway, hope they record some good boots of the European shows, can't wait to see the results of the new arrangement and possibly setlist as a result.

It was a fantastic show last night in NYC! This is the first time I've seen Mark without a full band and it was great to hear his voice like that. Loved it, just so resonant. I waited after the show to get Mark to sign my poster. He was gracious as always ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Also got to chat with Zander Schloss. Really nice guy as well! I am a little jealous that the European tour will include some additional strings! Those will be some great shows.

... Of the 3 shows I saw this tour, Philadelphia at Underground Arts was probably my favorite, just great vibe at that venue. I saw Philly show & NYC. Have to agree, Philly trumped NYC. Better vibe, felt like you were in someone's basement. NYC- stage was so big & up high, the musicians felt more removed from the audience- physically & vibe-ally, than at Underground Arts. And, Lanegan was less chatty- no in between songs banter- in NY than in Philly. Also, sadness, Resurrection Song, was skipped in NY.
