Thanks anyway Bibi. Well, I've just looked up Nick Cave's IMDB profile, and he has worked on the soundtrack for 2 as-yet-unreleased movies. One is an animation of Pinocchio, and the other is a documentary called West of Memphis, about the West Memphis Three, due for release in 2012. That could be the one Mark was hinting at. www.imdb.com/title/tt2130321/

Bibi, I would give anything to hear that interview!

And the universe didn't implode? What? These were my exact thoughts when I first heard Lanegan and Will Oldham duet on the Soulsavers' "Throug My Sails".

I guess we'll just have to wait and see (something I'm not very good at). Thanks Bibi.

I haven't felt this stupid since I refused to download 'Idle Hands.' It was worth it though. Bubblegum more so. I never downloaded or download anything. I dont dig anything. BUT - really if i'm sent some song previously (that happens often ;D), of course i take it and listen hey ;D !! I catch , enjoy and cherish every present given to me into this short life

After repeated listenings it seems to me that this song works more as an intro than as a proper song. Mind you, nothing wrong with that, and maybe that's the way Mark envisioned it, being the first track. But I could be wrong, of course. It's still a good track. I agree . Its growing on me... very slowly...

This version of BJL is so great, too bad it didn't make it on the album... He actually wrote it in one hour! First he refused the offer from the gaming company but his 16 and 18 year old nephews convinced him to do it when they heard it was for Rage!

Glad you like it! I wish you could listen to the interview because it's so long, obviously they will have to cut a lot of info when they print it. Maybe my friend won't mind sharing the link of the interview once it's released...

First he refused the offer from the gaming company but his 16 and 18 year old nephews convinced him to do it when they heard it was for Rage! awww haha that's such a cool story. One hour, wow, turned out to be one of my fav songs this year. I must admit that the end of the new version was a bit disappointing, I like the original ending when Lanegan's "raging" at full steam. But still an excellent jam.

No she interviewed him in person. As he's rehearsing in Belgium right now, he was in Paris for a day to promote the album. I swear when the interview is released, even if I can't share the link, I'll transcribe the whole thing!
