I love the heavy/experimental Mark - Weird Chill / Bubblegum / Soulsavers..., so the new album will be very interesting to hear!! Do you prefer it to his older stuff? Of the "solo" stuff - yes, but Sweet Oblivion and Dust are my absolute favourites!! ;D

Ah, its all good i suppose, I feel better about things today. I think whiskey and field songs will always be my favourites no matter what Mark does to be honest (whiskey is my fave album of all time and The river rise my favourite all time song so kinda hard to beat for me!). Im sure BF will be great (hoping long black vanishing train is still pretty stripped down).
I do love some of the weird chill/bubblegum era stuff (mirrored, wish you well, lexington slowdown, wedding dress, strange religion, morning glory wine, out of nowhere, 100 days and bombed) just not keen on all of it.
Im so glad Mark released all those 'official' live albums, those along with the soulsavers, the stuff with Isobel and the gutter twins material the Lanegan fan has been well treated since bubbegum. Im grateful and hope Mark continues to release music for many more years as he is simply the best ever IMO.

Im grateful and hope Mark continues to release music for many more years as he is simply the best ever IMO. I think the lyrical content of When Your Number Isn't Up ranks high up there as some of my favorite stuff ever. Mark is the best vocalist for me hands down, & the best ever (overall musician) for me is Elliott Smith but Mark can / will eventually trump him one day as he continues to make music and Elliott is literally dust in the wind Christopher

If he's prepared to push the boundaries of what he wants to write and perform, I'm more than happy to push the boundaries of what I listen to in order to include it Well said! I ADORE this song!

Nice! Thanks!
Google's translation helps to understand the article. No big news in it, but it's always sooo good to see Mark smiling (he looks really happy). ;D

Is it just me, or is Mark Lanegan finally sounding happy about talking about Mark Lanegan at long last?

The link seems to be dead, for some reason, but as Analusia said, not really anything new (but the picture is absolutely lovely Hopefully a kind, German-speaking soul will pick up the mag and translate it for us.

The article is basically just an announcement for BF and a little rehash of his collaborative work. Lots of praise for his voice as well. The only thing of real interest is the quotation (quick translation, which seems kinda silly since I'm translating something that was originally said in English): "At all times I did what seemed natural at that certain moment," reports the after long years of drug abuse visibly healthier looking Lanegan. "When I've enough songs that fit somewhat together I release a record. But honestly, I have also longed to do an album of my own again. After the last record I thought a break of about a year would do me good. Then I started working on a collaboration, then another and so on. And suddenly it's been 8 years. It won't be so long until the next record."

Does anyone else think Mark sounds like he's got a cold/blocked nose in this song. It doesn't bother me....I think his voice sounds fantastic.....just blocked nosey.

I really love the instrumental section but I can't say the same thing on vocal work. It doesn’t persuade me at all...

I went from refusing to listen until I had the CD to being totally addicted to it. I have listened to both songs together about 6 times now, and I am not sure how to stop!
