Slayer - Reign In Blood Wolf People - Fain
Up next: Teriyaki Asthma - Vols. I-V (must have bought this double LP in 1991 and promptly filed it away; can't remember ever playing it. Some interesting names on there too)

Just seen the news. I was about 16 when Reign in Blood came out, and can't think of a better record to hear for the first time at that age than that. Thanks Jeff.

Melvins - Everybody Loves Sausages Their cover of Queen's Best Friend may well be the strangest thing they've ever done, stranger even than roping Jello Biafra in to do a Roxy Music song (as they do later on)

Cartoon Network is the latest platform for the increasingly baffling Boards Of Canada ad campaign...
Album is Tomorrow's Harvest, due out June 10, and the pre-order site's crashing all over the place.

Vangelis - Blade Runner soundtrack (new remaster on translucent red vinyl, sounds STUNNING)
Would have also had Nick Drake's new Bryter Layter reissue vinyl boxset thingy but the postman couldn't be arsed leaving it with my neighbour, so I have to go and get it at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning.

It's good - starts & ends with church organ and quiet/distorted vocals, then goes all analogue synthy in the middle

Another version available on Beatport with Gregor Tresher remix as an exclusive (replacing the Freesha one). Pricey though - £5.28 (says 4.59 initially but then VAT gets added) for MP3, plus an additional £3.00 (plus VAT again) for WAV or AIFF versions, which makes it £8.73 for 4 tracks...

No membership required, but as it's a Record Store Day release it can't go on online sale until Saturday. If you keep checking back, details should start appearing soon. No longer on their site that I can see, just the CD/DVD

Huge list of what Piccadilly Records have left in stock here. Some surprises (and Cold Molly is there still), and I can't recommend the Smoke Fairies (feat. Blitzen Trapper) one highly enough. Still instore purchase only, but online orders will be accepted from Saturday Morning.

As a heads-up: This week will have some stores returning unsold stock to distributors (markup on RSD stuff is generally quite small as the stores get ripped off also), with that getting redistributed - 9am on Saturday is when this unsold stuff is allowed to be sold online (again, still 1 per customer). The Mark/Duke thing didn't sell out at Piccadilly, so they'll have a few plus any more that they can source this week, and these'll be sold at cost. Many stores will still have stuff in stock and on shelves for people to pop in and buy without having to queue for the privilege (PR is open today and doing a brisk trade by all accounts). I missed RSD last year as there was only the one thing that I wanted (etched Longest Day) - eBay during the week after had them going for £70, I got mine for £5 the week after from the shop. It's worth hanging on a bit, and I'll post details of stores who still have either of these for sale as soon as they announce them - if other people do the same, then hopefully we can all get copies to everyone who wants them. Not as yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it appears soon - the Moby one hasn't been announced further than a @marklanegan tweet last week (they're not supposed to be mentioned until after the event), so it's certainly possible - and if something's popular in tiny quantities on RSD, then the label'll want to make a bit of money from it

Probably One of the drawbacks of RSD is that almost everybody wants vinyl pressed in February & March, and as there's so few places left that do this and so many different records to do (about 750 different releases this year) there's a bit of a backlog. There were a lot of non-arrivals today, plus some general weirdness: the Soundgarden 10" should have been on pink vinyl as with the US version, but there were last-minute production issues; black vinyl versions arrived just before lunchtime today. If either the records or the sleeves arrived late (and these were late announcements), then they might have just thrown the last batch out unmarked.

There were 3 Heavenly releases, should all be handstamped with the "Heavenly... Believe in Magic" - 3 sizes, 3 ink colours (Red 7" - Stealing Sheep, Blue 10" - Duke/Mark, Black 12" - Toy), with a little sticker on the back saying what it is. At a guess the cheeky sods wanted everyone to buy all 3 as a set. The 10" I have is stamped (blue again) on one label, white on the other. It's possible that one or two were missed by the stampers (it happens when you have 900+ to do in an evening), or maybe - as none of the discs are numbered anyway - a few more got squeaked out.
