Perry Farrell.... He may not have the best voice going around but he sure as hell is a great showman.

has weird al done a wookie song? Many years ago, a mate and I were mucking around with our guitars and wrote a song about Chewbacca. My mate did awesome Chewy impersonations so we wrote a love ballad type song and my mate would random do his chewy voice over the top as tho Chewy was pining for his long lost wookie love. It was a laugh.

Discovering there is a band dedicated to Arnie, called ArnoCorps. [/youtube] They were awesome, especially the total recall clip and classic lyrics... thanks for that.

pps. I think it's fun to voice my opinion, but this discussion is quite pointless. Quick and to the pointless if you will. You can't convince anyone with arguments to start loving Nick Oliveri, cus he's not that easy to love. And no one can convince me to love Qotsa after the break-up, cus they made two piles of steaming.. Never mind, go listen to some Kyuss for gaw's sake!! I must agree with everything you have written about the demise of QOTSA since Nick left. When KYUSS finished QOTSA filled that void for me, and boy have I seen some magical shows of theirs (Even put up with a fully naked Mr Oliveri in 2001 at the Corner hotel in Melbourne) Also saw Nick play acoustic with Mark about 5yrs back... anyway.... Nick brought so much more dynamics to the band, but now QOTSA is mundane, even with a kick ass drummer like Joey. Their last album was so poor and Lullabyes has 3-4 good songs. Whether people like his singing/screaming or not, credit where credit is due, Nick is the difference between QOTSA kickin' arse and now smellin' like a dirty ol' arse. By the way, Nick and his crew toured Melbourne a few months back, put on a killer show, pity Mark wasnt there to share the stage with him... Might go dig up old very KYUSS and QOTSA videos now ... watch 'em and dream about the good ol' days.

In my humble opinion, album of the year, thus far, goes to Eric Avery with his release of 'Help Wanted'.
For those that dont know, Eric was a founding member of Jane's Addiction and released the fantastic Deconstruction and PolarBear albums also.
This album sounds nothing like Jane's but I highly recommended. Also features Taylor Hawkins, Shirley Manson (fantastic duet with Eric) and even Flea.

I had trouble getting it as well but finally got it on Friday night (7/3). I had asked at a couple of JB stores earlier in the week and one guy said there had been a delay with the distributor. When I went in on Friday it still wasnt on display but the lady said they had arrived a couple of days earlier and she hadn't opened the box yet. I immediately demanded she get the stanley knife out, open up the box and get me a copy, which she did ;D

For me down here in Australia, hearing Nearly Lost you on the Singles sountrack in about 1995 got me interested enough to do a bit more research. Got Dust when it came out and played it a bit, then it took a while for me to realise that he had solo albums (see what no internet at the time deprived me of) that led to me buying Scraps as my first Lanegan solo album which was quickly followed by grabbing WFTHG and The WS. the infatuation with his voice and music has just grown stronger since. Thanks Mark.
Seen him 3 times solo in Melbourne and a couple of times with QOTSA... just hoping he & Greg can find it in there hearts to bring the GT's down here! You guys/gals in the States and Europe dont know how lucky you are.
