A little distressing to me that it's on the same time as The Walking Dead here. But I will watch Mark first, zombies later on.

The thing with the lights is normal. Since the beginning he has always asked for the lights to be turned low, no bright stage lights, no spotlights, and absolutely no flash photography in his face. I think most people/places know this, but once in a while someone doesn't. A similar thing happened in San Francisco this year - he got through more than half the set, then suddenly they put a spot on him and he did the same thing with shaking his head no. At least the guy there got it right away and turned it down before he had to say anything.
And yes, he started this tour with an injury.

Shelley appeared with Mark in Zagreb and sang about 5 songs with him!!! Does anyone know anymore about this eg: a one-off? She was at the LA show and also the Pappy & Harriet's show. My guess at this point would be that she will be at all the shows that her schedule allows. That's just a guess, I haven't heard either way.

The story behind the video: MARK LANEGAN BAND
Shares 'Emperor' Video UK & European Tour in November & December
2017 has been another excellent year for Mark Lanegan Band. With career-best reviews greeting his tenth album Gargoyle back in April, followed by last month’s Still Life With Roses remix EP, and now heading out on an extensive European tour, Lanegan has today shared a video for album highlight “Emperor”.
Director Joshua Lipworth says of the video: “The story is based on the desperate final hours of a dictator ousted by his own people and loosely based on the fall of Ceausescu, the Romanian dictator. Firmly in denial of his desperate circumstance, he marches steadfastly towards his tragic demise. His grip on reality faltering with every step. The video was shot in 16mm on location in Estonia. Predominantly in the suburbs of Tallin and the deserted underwater soviet prison camp of Rummu.”

What did you do/see?
I don't know that I could justify doing them for every band, multiple times, though there are many that do. But the band I did it for, I felt it was worth it. And...you always feel like you wish you had gotten just a little more, too!

I have done it once before, for a different band that I really like, and it was worth it. I really can't afford to do it (I know people who always do the VIP when they have it, for every band they see, multiple times). I definitely can't do that, but it was worth it to do when I could. I got some cool merch, and a nice photo, instead of a 'lean over and look up' at the signing table type of photo. And soundcheck for sure was great - for this particular band, they did a full song and then a bunch of half songs that they didn't end up playing at the show, so it felt as though I saw a longer concert! Though I don't know if that's normal or what everyone would do.
This band also talked to the VIPs informally from the stage during soundcheck, though they didn't really 'chat' with us during the signing and photos. A little bit, but it was still a line situation in order to get everyone through the photos and signing.
This band did not do a signing after the show, or even come out - the only chance to speak to them was at VIP. If it happened that I could afford it for Mark when he was around, I would do it. Which should come as no surprise. :-)

Yes. this is something new he's doing in certain cities on the upcoming tour. If it's offered where you are, you can see it listed where you buy tickets for the show. You still need to buy a normal show ticket' but you'll also see a 'VIP Package' listed if they have it. As mentioned above, it's a pre-show event that gives you access to soundcheck, a special merch item only available to VIP, and a meet and greet with a photo opportunity.
A lot of bands are doing these packages now, so Mark is trying them as well. He will still do a signing after the show as always, the VIP is just a little more, with a little more personal time. The question came up on Twitter because some people from a Facebook group were feeling worried that he would not do the post-show signing anymore now that he offered the VIP package.

No Sideways in Reverse - would have been nice, though! And just to clarify, High Noon Amsterdam isn't technically a cover - it's a Masters of Reality song that was originally recorded as a duet with Mark and Chris, so it was faithfully recreated at this show. And it sounded awesome! My pictures: onewhiskey.com/images/september-16-2017-boc-benefit-pioneertown-ca/

Yep, a new book, 'Hog Wild', and accompanying CD from Sandra Boynton! Mark sings a song called 'Easy'. Read about it and hear a snippet of the song here: blog.workman.com/hog-wild/And a 'making of video' here: vimeo.com/213577979 No Mark in the video, but Samuel L. Jackson is awesome in it!

One thing I remember from this show was that it finally struck me how strange Killing Season sounded. Then I realized it was the U.N.K.L.E. remix version, which was actually completely cool live! They did that version for the whole west coast tour, and it really sounded great.

alot of talking. alot of fucking talk! i dont believe ive been to a show where i can hear people over the band. im on the fence but i think Lyenn was the best of the night. That really got me too - it was so loud with talk in the back that it was like that constant white noise, ocean sort of sound! Last night in San Francisco was peacefully, respectfully quiet for all three bands so much more enjoyable for listening to Lyenn and Duke.

Late on reviews because of travel, but Seattle show was great! The band sounded awesome despite technical issues. Apparently something was wrong with the computer for Aldo's set-up, so that had Mark and Jeff talking with the other band members often to switch the set around. My guess was they moved the songs that needed that equipment to the end in hopes of getting it fixed, but it never did. At one point when Mark went over to see what was happening with Aldo, he just said "technology".
So for the encore we got Mark and Jeff alone, which was still great. Final set list was different than planned by far - sorry I didn't grab any so I can't list it, but there are some out there so maybe someone will post.

it's been a great read so far. I want to discuss some of the chapter intros, but dont want to be too quick with the spoilers for those who are looking forward to reading for themselves. Nothing wrong with starting a new thread titled something along the lines of I Am The Wolf Discussion [SPOILERS] - those who want to or can participate can go for it. Just a suggestion, I don't have it yet!

There will be a benefit on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown, CA for Brian O'Connor to help with medical bills due to his ongoing battle with cancer. Mark will be there to do several songs with the various musicians, including members of Masters of Reality, Eagles of Death Metal, and Mojave Lords. It's an outdoor show, and should be a great desert jam session! www.pappyandharriets.com/event/1540156-fantastic-fundraiser-for-boc-pioneertown/

What I had been told is August, in time for people to have for the US shows. I haven't heard anything since then, so I'm going with Amazon's 15th prediction.
