I speak Spanish, but you don't need to understand it to enjoy this song. Give it a try.

Whoa, 2020! That's a ways away. Color me interested, though. Seems like Mark is becoming more willing to open up about his private life.

One of my guilty pleasures is reading about people's live experiences on the Internet. I always find it amusing so I thought I'd start a similar thread in here, hope you guys are interested.
The best concerts I've been to are Tool live in Florence in 2006, Afterhours in my hometown in 2009 and Mark's show in Bologna in 2012 (though it surely was weird to see all those people not even singing along, kinda strange).
Worst show was definitely this Tunisian (or Moroccan?) singer called Bombino. Dull and repetitive, I almost fell asleep. Thankfully it was a free show in my hometown so no monies were flushed down the toilet.
So, what are your picks?

Ode to Sad Disco is also a longer piece, but that seems to work. Indeed. On that track Mark really achieves a hypnotic effect. I love the "here I have seen the light" part.

Definitely thrilled. I enjoyed Black Pudding. Acoustic guitar + synths make up for a trippy combination, let's cross fingers.

I'm guessing it will be a collaboration and not a proper solo album from Mark. Either way, I'm excited. Whether it's old school or not doesn't really trouble me. If anything, I'd like it if he started to experiment with new sounds (not necessarily electronica-influenced, we've had plenty of that, after all) Can't seem to find anything else about this online but I will post more if something more surfaces.

Bleeding Muddy Water surely lasts a couple minutes more than necessary. I've always suspected Mark was going for some sort of trance-like effect on that track, what with the repetition of the "drown in the rain/now the rain don't come" part. In my opinion, it fails. In Gray Goes Black, he sings "into the blood we sink and burn" too many times. That said, Tiny Grain of Truth is also a long song but it never bothered me.

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon Ryan Adams - Prisoner Prisoner’s a good one! Not quite up there with Heartbreaker or Cold Roses, but definitely not a bad record by any means. I gotta give a listen to those two records. Prisoner so far sounds quite alright. My favorite is probably Breakdown.

I'm very dissapointed with this so called book. A few anekdotes, no pictures and very little background stories given by mr Lanegan and most of the stuff he writes we already know. Not worth my € 22 on bol.com This, sadly.

My copy arrived yesterday, and I read it from cover to cover in about an hour! Played a few of Mark's songs to accompany the read, obviously. It's a beautiful book, with chronological lyrics not only from his solo work but also his collaborations (e.g. Mad Season, Isobel Campbell), and a narrative from Mark (describing his writing processes, state of mind etc.) at various points. I guess some photos and/or illustrations might have been nice, but that's a very minor quibble; what stands out are the beauty of Mark's lyrics and his humour, honesty and humility. I thoroughly recommend this book! That's beyond cool and exactly what I expected. Sep, 20 can't come soon enough for me!

Bleeding muddy water is one I misinterpreted at first. Completely. A friend of mine who doesn't speak English thought Mark was singing "marijuana" instead of "muddy water" when I first played the song to him. Not a funny one, but I always thought he was singing "from that one tiny sting/to that vacant flame" in One Way Street. It seemed like a reference to heroin use to me.

Yeah I agree, never a fan just because of his age and other shit that's been going on. It just makes yer think. Yeah, he was still young, married with children. It's just so heartbreaking that human beings can feel so broken that they can't manage to put the pieces back together. I've been close to doing myself in quite a few times so whenever I hear news of somebody actually doing it it just makes me feel bad, really bad.
