I'm in Melbourne and I agree that I wouldn't bother heading out to the Croxton. The other places mentioned are all good, Cherry is a small bar, Ding Dong a bit bigger and The Corner is the largest but slightly out of the CBD. I'd go Cherry then Ding Dong and if you don't like either one then they are both in the central CBD that you can easily go elsewhere.
If you find yourself in St Kilda you could go the the Prince of Wales Bandroom or the Espy.

Mark was in fine voice at the intimate ding dong gig and the full band show at the croxton last night.possibly the best ive heard him vocally.

Great, thanks for the heads up.
I didn't know the Croxton gig was the full band, but clearly it is and this Ding Dong gig is solo.
Best of both worlds 2 nights in a row.

Half way through listening to it now. I think its consistent so far, more acoustic than his previous work which I prefer. A number of stripped back songs too which is good because some of his past work has been overproduced IMO. Not arguing that one at all. Seems like it will be a bit of a grower album. Dare I say it, but I think that there's a slight Euphoria Morning vibe to some of the songs? Agreed... The song Higher Truth definitely sounds like it's from Euphoria Morning era. I'm liking 'Dead Wishes' Through the Window' and 'Murderer of Blue Skies'.

I was watching Bloodline last night and Lanegan's unmistakable voice plays over the end credits of episode 12. Not a song I'm familiar with, though. New song for sure and a great one! youtu.be/P5QLyJGmKawsounded like a few of the previously unreleased tracks from the anthology, perhaps one of those old songs which never saw the light of day.

jho & 13977,
I thought, or was told, that the live cds are not the full show because they don't put cover songs on there... which I understood was a royalties issue... However, I see that covers have been included for possibly the first time on the Iceland cd...Mack the Knife, Pretty Colors & you only live twice.

Jeff was playing electric guitar which gave the show a heavier feel in parts and added a different slant to some of the songs we usually hear acoustically. Mark was at the top of his game and the new songs came across a treat in the live setting. I must say torn red heart was the standout performance and mark proclaimed after the song that, "yes, men have feelings too".
Thanks again for a great show Mark.

It will be included as a CD on the Phantom Radio deluxe ed. To be clear this is NOT the case in US/Canada No Bells On Sunday will be part of the digital deluxe edition on iTunes. There are no plans to press No Bells On Sunday to CD in US/CAN at this time. You mention US/CAN but is there any plan to press NBOSunday to CD in Europe/at all (I won't even ask about Australia)?

Assuming it's for his first single from the new album but I wonder if it has anything to do with the pro recording of the two shows at Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne this time 2 years ago...? Nothing has come of that yet... although the second night was interrupted by 2-3 delays as a result of broken strings.

Triple R radio station here in Melbourne just played the track with Mark called 'Rooks Across The Gate' and as we'd hoped it sounded amazing! There'll be a replay of the show posted here eventually. EDIT: Actually it looks like this is the third (!) week in a row they've played it, so go back and you can hear it now! Thanks Rimb! Thanks for that. For everyone's info... Go to last weeks (27th) broadcast and the song starts at around 12:30mins into the 3hr show. Vocals start at around 16:10mins.
